Nuovi investimenti per il Terminal Container del porto di Capodistria

Nel 2011 il porto di Capodistria ha gestito un traffico container da record con un output a fine anno di quasi 590 mila teu. L’aumento del settore ha portato Luka Koper ad investire in attrezzature e macchinari con l’obiettivo di migliorare l'efficienza operativa presso il Terminal Container.

In febbraio la società ha, infatti, acquistato sei autocarri con rimorchio e due gru portacontainer, mentre nel mese di giugno sono state consegnate due gru RTG e a ottobre cinque autocarri. Altre due gru RTG sono arrivate a dicembre ed entreranno in funzione alla fine di gennaio. Oltre a questo, sono stati ampliati gli impianti di stoccaggio fino a raggiungere una capacità complessiva di 700.000 teu, e impiegati 23 nuovi addetti.

Infine, recentemente l'azienda ha firmato l'accordo con Konecranes per l'acquisto di tre nuove gru RTG aggiuntive che saranno consegnate nel mese di ottobre.


Investments in Container Terminal Equipment

In 2011, Koper’s Container Terminal handled and stored record amounts of container freight: throughput amounted to nearly 590,000 TEUs at year’s end. Due to the increased volume of operations at the Terminal, we additionally invested in equipment and machinery.
In February 2011 Luka Koper acquired six yard trucks with trailers and two reach stackers; June saw the delivery of two RTG cranes, and October five new yard trucks; two more RTG cranes arrived in December and these will start operating in late January. Further to this, storage facilities at the Terminal were expanded last year, which has resulted in an overall capacity of 700,000 TEUs and the employment of an additional 23 workers.
Several days ago the company signed the agreement with Konecranes on the acquisition of three additional RTG cranes that will be delivered in October. Ten Konecranes are already in operation at the Container Terminal, and these modern versions shall have sixteen wheels instead of eight.
The reason behind all these investments is to improve operational efficiency at the Luka Koper Container Terminal which has, due to exceptional growth in cargo over the last year, become the largest such terminal in the Northern Adriatic.
